Write For Us

Back to homepage

Tonight at the Movies never stops looking for talented contributors and have the following positions available. We are always on the lookout for fresh blood and new talent. If you feel after browsing our site that you would be a good fit for our writing style and content, please check out the positions available below. We currently work with Santa Monica College and El Camino Community College in offering students the ability to receive class credit for their internship with us. If you are a student and are looking for college credit, please include your school information so that we can determine if that is a viable option.

Feel free to apply for more than one position. Email all interest to Laurie Curtis, Editor in Chief at Laurieann@tonightatthemovies.com with the required info attached; in the subject line enter the name of position(s) desired.

Film/DVD Review (Intern and Contributor positions available)

A strong knowledge of film, whether in one genre (please indicate in your email if you have an area of expertise) or all encompassing, is a must. Reviews must be able to be read quickly in 500-700 words. Give a complete and concise overview of a film conveying to the reader the film’s strengths and weaknesses with clarity.

If you’re interested, email us relevant samples of past work. If you don’t have any past work, then write something that shows what you’re capable of.

Film News Writer (Intern)

We’re looking for more voices to contribute in our daily film coverage. Experience is helpful, but not required. Writing ability and a unique voice are. You’d be required to seek out interesting, fresh news stories on Trade publications and other sources of your own devising, and then give us your own spin on them.
Interested writers must be able to commit to at least 5 news stories of short to medium length (400-600 words) every week.

If you’re interested, email us relevant samples of past work. If you don’t have any past work, then write something that shows what you’re capable of.

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this website.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s tough to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appearance.
I must say you have done a amazing job with this.

In addition, the blog loads very fast for me on Opera.
    Excellent Blog!
